Peer Review Policy

Journal Policy

The Journal of Sustainable Futures and Interdisciplinary Solutions (JSFIS) is committed to maintaining transparency, academic integrity, and the highest standards in scholarly publishing. These policies guide the submission, review, and publication process to ensure a fair and ethical platform for all stakeholders.

  1. Open Access Policy

JSFIS operates under a fully open-access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide without any subscription or paywall barriers.

  • Articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), allowing for unrestricted distribution and reuse with appropriate attribution to the original authors and the journal.

  1. Peer Review Policy

JSFIS follows a double-blind peer review process, where:

  • The identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  • Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent experts to ensure impartiality and academic rigor.
  • Final editorial decisions are based on reviewer feedback and the Editor-in-Chief's assessment.
  1. Submission Policy
  • Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively to JSFIS and should not be under consideration elsewhere.
  • Authors are required to adhere to the journal’s Author Guidelines for formatting, citation, and ethical compliance.
  • Submissions undergo an initial editorial screening for scope, quality, and originality before entering the peer review process.

  1. Ethical Compliance

JSFIS upholds the ethical guidelines outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  • For Authors: Ensure originality, proper citation, and disclosure of conflicts of interest.
  • For Reviewers: Provide unbiased feedback, maintain confidentiality, and report ethical concerns.
  • For Editors: Ensure fairness in decision-making and investigate allegations of misconduct.

  1. Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened for plagiarism using reliable detection tools (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate).

  • Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 15% are flagged for revision or rejection.
  • Proven cases of plagiarism may result in retraction of published articles and notification to the authors' institutions.

  1. Article Processing Charges (APC)

To support its open-access publishing model, JSFIS applies the following APCs:

  • For Authors from India: INR 2000
  • For International Authors: USD 50

Waivers may be granted to authors with financial constraints upon request.

  1. Copyright Policy

Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant JSFIS a license to publish under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY).

  • This license permits unrestricted sharing, adaptation, and reuse of published content, provided proper attribution is given.

  1. Retraction and Withdrawal Policy
  • Retraction: Articles found to violate ethical standards (e.g., plagiarism, data falsification) will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued.
  • Withdrawal: Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before final acceptance. Once accepted, withdrawal requests are subject to editorial approval.

  1. Archiving and Preservation Policy

JSFIS ensures the long-term availability and accessibility of its published content through partnerships with reputable archiving platforms and repositories.

  1. Appeals and Complaints Policy
  • Authors who disagree with editorial decisions may appeal by submitting a written explanation. Appeals will be reviewed by an independent panel, and a final decision will be made by the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Complaints regarding ethical concerns or procedural issues are addressed transparently and fairly.

  1. Privacy Policy

JSFIS respects the confidentiality of all parties involved in the publishing process.

  • Personal data collected during submission or review is used solely for journal-related purposes and is not shared with third parties.

  1. Advertising and Sponsorship Policy
